My family has been growing a nice garden's worth of tomatoes ever since I can remember and then canning them. This was passed along to me and I have been growing tomatoes and canning salsa for 10 years. I started growing the basic hot peppers back then (2000ish), but never used them for anything else. I decided to expand the garden this season (2012), have fresh peppers available for every meal, and have enough to make canned purees and powders if the crop warrants that. I have lurked here for the season and finally decided to get involved.
