    chinense Chocolate Bih Jolokia

Thanks for the comments everyone.   I was always intending to buy a Jamaican Hot Chocolate but the seeds were out of stock each time I tried. They do look like Jamaican Hot Chocolates. Can anyone describe the taste? I checked pepperlover.com and I couldn't find them being sold there.   I'm about...

    chinense Chocolate Bih Jolokia

They are definitely not Chocolate Habaneros, which are my favourite chillies. Choc habs have a pungent taste like a Trinidad Scorpion Moruga blend. These chocolate Bih Jolokias have a far more subtle taste.   Ironically I tried growing some more choc habs this year, only one plant survived and...

    Fatalii...Anybody NOT a fan?

Same here. I grew Fatalii and Devil's Tongue together after hearing so much about Fatalii. I wasn't that fussed about them but I did really enjoy the Devil's Tongue which looked exactly the same. The plant didn't produce as many fruit though as Fatalii.

    chinense Chocolate Bih Jolokia

I bought some Bih Jolokia seeds along with loads of others from pepperlover.com (excellent service by the way!).   I selected three seedlings and grew them into proper plants. Two of them produced red fruit as expected, the third produced brown / chocolate coloured fruit. They looked exactly the...

What to do with Superhot sauce?

My first attempt at making a sauce from a harvest was great. I used a whole selection of chillies varying up to Habanero strength, blended it with onions, rice vinegar, roasted garlic and raw garlic. I put it on my cheese and ham sandwiches and used it like a chutney.   I then decided to grow...

Pimenta de Neyde are so freakin` cool!!!

I have some Pimenta de Neyde growing. I planted the seeds last November I think. I haven't put them outside yet, except during the day. I watched a video on youtube once which gave me the impression that they grew really big and gave out very few fruit but mine have been relatively bushy and...

chinense Mustard Habanero Pod Review - From PepperLover.com

Thanks for this. I will be planting mustard habanero seeds come January 1st. I just need to pick them up from my parent's place first, I tried superhots this year and my husband and I have decided that we prefer fruit that is less hot because then we can throw more into the dinner and it gives a...

    Hello from Scotland

Welcome! (Moved to Germany from Crieff in Perthshire). I've lived in Edinburgh before. It's a nice city.

    Dwarf habanero

Thanks! I haven't eaten one yet. I'm waiting for them to ripen. It's a little chilly outside now which I think may be delaying them ripening. I will be bringing them in sometime soon. I'm really curious as to how hot they will be.   I bought a thousand little sealable plastic bags from ebay and...

    Dwarf habanero

I planted some white habanero seeds and although some came up only one survived. It then grew into this small stunted, twisted chilli plant, twisted I think because of a problem with aphids. It was about 30 cm tall and I had two small fruit growing on it. This was early spring this year so I...

    Pure Vs. Hybrid

Dulac, it's interesting what you say about Bhut Jolokias being terrible producers (and also Pimenta da Neydes but I have only just planted those seeds)   I have three plants at work by a large windowsill, although they only get direct sun from 4pm onwards when I need to put the blinds down for a...

    Hi from Scotland

Welcome! We moved from Scotland to Germany two years and two days ago.   Is this the same curry house that the council threatened to remove their license if they had another contest because too many people were being hospitalised?   I did a quick google and the place does come up in news...

No heat from my (so called) Lemon Habaneros

Hammerfall, I am growing some Fatalli as well and am just waiting for them to ripen. I also have some Devil's tongue to compare them to. I'm really looking forward to trying them.

No heat from my (so called) Lemon Habaneros

Thanks! I've found the post by googling "peach habanero site:thehotpepper.com"   http://thehotpepper.com/topic/27646-my-peach-habaneros-have-no-heat/   Some of those Habaneros look slightly darker, but some have exactly the same colour as my ones. The same shape as well. I bought the seeds...
