The Hot Pepper

we have long narrow slightly twisty 'ancient red' peppers here in chicago. might be close?

Ancient sweet is what I was hoping for based on what I've read. Don't think these are the same. Sweetness was about the same as red bells, flavour was similar too, though without the bitterness I find in bells. This is what they look like
