condiments What kind of mill/grinder for pepper flakes?

I've seen various methods for making pepper flakes, but I was curious as to how it's made on a commercial scale. After a little research I found 2 mills that are commonly used, the hammer mill and one that looks exactly like a meat grinder but bigger. I've never heard or seen anyone using a...

chinense I'm confused about the Datil pepper

Last year I grew what was supposed to be a Datil pepper but it looked completely different from what I expected. It grew to be an Annuum type pepper that ripened red. It was disappointing because I was under the impression that the datil pepper should be a Chinense type and ripen and stay...

    review Barrel aged hot sauce

I love Louisiana hot sauce so it’s exciting to see a barrel aged version. It’s very reminiscent of the original but the vinegar doesn’t hit as hard. Definitely some bourbon notes coming thru with a slight smokiness on the finish. It’s priced at $5.99 a little more than double than the Original...

    OnlyPeppers 2023

It should be a good year for growing peppers. My goal is to find the most productive varieties that thrive in the Texas heat. The growlist will consist of mainly Annuums but there will be a couple non-Annuums here and there. I'll post the official growlist later. Cheers! Grow List: Serrano...

    Chile pepper mouse cursor

This website is using a pepper as the cursor and it's awesome. I'd like to have this cursor on my computer but not sure how to make that happen. If someone knows a way to make this change please share the process. Hopefully I can figure it out. https://www.bluegoosecantina.com/menu/

Grass Snake 🐍 in the garden

Due to limited space I’ve cut back on growing peppers to make room for other types of plants. I’ve set up an aquaponics system that I’m still trying to tweak and figure out. So far it’s been a lot of work without much reward but it’s coming along. I planted three fig varieties so you’ll see a...

    recipe-help Pasta sauce recipe?

I have a bunch of tomatoes and need to do something with them soon, so I'm thinking about making a pasta sauce. Any basic recipes anyone want to share? I could go online and search but I find that many recipes to be overly complicated. Like someone took a recipe added a bunch of crap and made it...

    Tea Time

*A thread for all tea lovers In an attempt to cut down on sugary drinks, I'm going to try and drink more tea. After a little research I'm convinced that loose leaf tea is the way to go. Picked up a few items to get me started. The little teapot with strainer only cost $3 at the Daiso, which...

    Grass Snake's Garden 2018

Here are some photos of what's growing so far. Trying a little bit of everything this year. The goal is to grow as much food as I can at home instead of buying from the store. This will most likely be just a picture glog because I'm horrible at documenting progress. Salad and romaine lettuce...

    Any ideas?

Grew this out from a pod that was mislabled Mako Kokoo. The pod was small and yellow and this plant is producing small jelly bean shaped pods which will probably turn yellow. Anyone recognize this one?

Please help me identifying this pepper

This plant was the last to go in the ground and it never got labeled. Thinking it maybe Paper latern but then it starting turning yellow. Chinense varieties don't usually do good for me so my guess would be a Baccatum of some sort but not completely sure.

    Bolsa de dulce?

Doesn't look like Bolsa de dulce but I could be wrong. Grew out two plants from OP seeds and this is the result. Here are pics of both plants. Some of the pods are growing upright which leads me to believe it is crossed. Feedback welcome thanks 1st plant 2nd plant

    GS17Gro

Had some dirt left over from a job, so I added it to the garden . Trying to gain more planting space, without increasing the footprint of the garden. Decided on removing the stone border and adding dirt all around to the fence. Figured this will allow for at least 6-8 more plants. Grow list...
