A few pods from three different varieties looked totally healthy but had some brown seeds inside. All of them were the first pods to ripen. After the first few, no more brown seeds. Curious as to why seeds go brown and will the yellow seeds be any good? Thanks. 

I germinated two seeds from the same Trinidad Douglah packet. One grew true but something went haywire with this one. It was purplish from the start. Can't find anything like it so turning to you experts for help identifying it. Any ideas?
