    Is this normal?

Thank you guys!    I have been so stressed with the watering, I never know what is enough... I'm a rookie, so I guess we all make those mistakes in the beginning...   I'm used to tomato plants, and they need a lot of water compared to peppers. I should let the soil dry out a bit in between...

    Is this normal?

Hey guys and gals!   Spring here in Norway has been really late, so I'm still keeping my late seedlings inside in a grow box.    Recently something is, i guess wrong, with the leaves of a few plants. The leaves look fine from below, so it seems like it is only on the upper surface. Overall the...

soil Topping off soil with perlite?

I'm quite the rookie when it comes to growing chillies, and this forum is amazing for getting quick answers from experienced growers!    I've recently started to grow chillies in a grow box (I know I am months too late..) and I was wondering if it serves a purpose to top off the soil with...

seeds Organically Grown Peppers = Organic Seeds?

Thats a start for sure. But I'm sure they started with already certified seeds. The seeds I bought are not from that farm; thats why I was wondering if i could sort of "make" my seeds organic through organic growing.    Its interesting, because it seems like regular seed will never become...

seeds Organically Grown Peppers = Organic Seeds?

In Norway, the government is really strict when it comes to food, and its sources. We are not allowed to import GMOs, and even if a product contains 0,3% of GMO (soybeans, corn etc) it has to be labeled, and then people dont buy it, and they stop using GMOs.  Same for Organic, which is sort of...

seeds Organically Grown Peppers = Organic Seeds?

Wow, thank you guys for a lot of useful information! I really appreciate it!!   I would never take the step to be certified organic, since this is just a hobby of mine. I thought it would be informative to know how this works, the rules on true organic agriculture is quite vast, and a lot to...

    Greetings from Norway

Hey everyone!   Just got into growing chillies here in Norway, and have been gathering information on chilli-growing for a while now. This forum will probably become a source for a lot of useful information!    I´m one of those people who always go all in on a project, and sometimes, I put a lot...

    Can anyone identify? Habanero?

The only problem is, I got a dried pod from a farmer, and i dont own the plant; therefore I am not able to taste the fresh fruit.    I have tasted a lot of chilli, from banana peppers to habaneros; and this one is not as hot as a habanero, but def hotter than a jalapeño.

seeds Organically Grown Peppers = Organic Seeds?

I have been looking around the internet for quite a while, and this question has bothered me for quite a bit.    We recently bought us in on an organic farm, certified organic, which means there has to be no pesticides, chemical fertilizers  etc. for the last 7 years, pluss a whole lot more on...

    Can anyone identify? Habanero?

Just got a message from someone who said that the Cajun Belle has around 100 - 1000 SHU, and this one was def more than that. So the Cajun Belle is ruled out i guess...   A have a room in the basement, which I will transform into a growing room for my peppers during winter, it even has a sink...

    Can anyone identify? Habanero?

I just tasted a few of the dried seeds, and compared to birdseye and hab; not very hot, just a bit stingy sensation. I dont know if that helps at all...         Here is a picture of the dried chilli, if that helps:   https://www.dropbox.com/s/m6tyffwt8vmlwm2/Bilde%2025.05.15%2C%2019.20.32.jpg?dl=0

    Can anyone identify? Habanero?

I havent tasted it yet, since i only got a dried one. The farmer told me it was intense, but I'm not sure if he is used to spicy foods or not. Norwegians are usually not, so, I have no idea. Its supposed to be quite hot at least. He said it was called something with "bombardino", but I'm not...

    Can anyone identify? Habanero?

Hey folks!    This is my first post, and a novice when it comes to growing chilli.   I´ve been setting up my grow boxes, since here in Norway the nights are still pretty cold, and planning on getting a head start on the chilli season (I know I´m a bit late already). I just got some seeds from...
