Doesn't c. flexuosum have low heat though? The wikipedia page says it's only 'mildy pungent': https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capsicum_flexuosum

Are there any varieties of non-spicy (or at least very low heat) wild peppers? I've heard there's one variety that grows in Paraguay that's used to make salsas, but I don't know the name..

I guess I shouldn't top it then because I'm in the southern hemisphere and only have a couple of months left (until late march).   edit: Forgot to mention that this is a sugar rush peach (C. baccatum)

I've been growing this plant for 2 months now and believe it's starting to flower. Is now the right time to top? And where exactly should I cut?      

Thanks a lot guys! I've managed to cut without hurting the roots too much and placed it into this pot:     it's only been a couple of days since the transplant but I can already tell how fast the plant's growing!

I grew this pepper using the two-cup method and thinking about transplanting now that the roots are well developed, but dont know how to do it without hurting the roots.. do you guys think I should transplant as is, without removing the plastic cup?  

I think the leaves of my peppers are being eaten by leaf miners.. not sure what to do  Any ideas?

I have another question.. after my seedslings sprout do I need to leave the humidity dome on? or should I take it off? This is my grow area right now:  

Does the fan need to be on 24/7? Also, wouldn't the fan reduce the soil temperature?

Well I did try putting them under a 23watt compact flourescent light for about an hour until I noticed that the tip of the leaves were turning yellow/brown (you can see it in the picture) and the soil temperature rised above 90°F. The bulb was 4-5 inches above the plants. Do I need to put the...

I have these seedlings next to a south window on a heat mat. They just sprouted yesterday and when I first measured them they were 1 inch tall, today I measured them again and now they're 1.5 inches and just keep growing taller. Is this normal? Could they not be getting enough sunlight?  

And is there anything I can do with these? Can they recover? Or are they dead?
