    Pepper id please

Or it may be an accidental cross.

    Pepper id please

If you bought them from a shady source like eBay you likely didn't get the seeds you wanted.

    Rotting cuttings

When I try to root plants they take forever and the stems start to turn white at the tip I cut and slowly creep toward the top with brown sploches on the stem, I suspect they rot. Aphids will also take them over, how do I root plants the fastest way possible?

    Stabilizing for desired shape

I'd say keep that plant, or clone it to use as genetic stock. Grow the seeds out from the desired pods (after you make sure it is isolated) and if you don't get the desired pheno, backcross it to the plant has your desired pheno, THEN grow those seeds out and see if you get your pheno. Nice...

    hydroponic Switching to hydroponic

I'm a beginner Chile grower, I usually grow some in the summer from seed organically without the use of fertilizer or pesticide in a small tilled garden with decent success. I'm not opposed to using fertilizers I just don't know where to begin, and when I get to the store they have so little...

    seeds Germination help

About the heat mats, I have a heat mat that is meant for aches and pains. The mat gets up to 100 on low,how would I decrease the temp?

    seeds Germination help

I got some seeds from Jim Duffy, I ordered some Bahamian goat seeds and he was kind enough to pack in another variety for free. I've grown several generic varieties from the hardware store not impressed with the germination rates. I'd like to maximize the germination rate, what techniques...

    Homemade pepper extract

I've only used this stuff a time or two and small amounts at that, doesn't taste great either.

    Homemade pepper extract

It's pretty good quality, I just haven't used it in a while and need to know if it's susceptible to bacteria or anything like that.

    Homemade pepper extract

To clarify, I soak the habs in alcohol and then let the alcohol evaporate off to make the extract.

    Homemade pepper extract

My homemade pepper extract is made from chocolate habs and isopropyl alcohol, once dried it becomes a tar like consistency but it's getting old, does this stuff expire?

cloning Hybrid vigor and cloning process

If you have an f1 hybrid plant you like, does the hybrid vigor (height and fast growth rate) still function?

    breeding Created a new cross

I only had one cross but I still have a bunch of seeds to grow f1s. Plus the seed in this one wasn't isolated so it's alright. I have 2 plants, both are f1s and one is a giant with like 30 pods on the way.

I still don't know what color they are when ripe though, I'll find out soon though.

    breeding Created a new cross

Same here, it seems like the placenta is combined somehow too. In my f1 the placenta isn't like a typical chinense where it's just a small cluster of seeds right under the calyx, nor is it like the anuum mother where it is a gigantic plug that runs from the top of the pod to the bottom. In my...

    breeding Created a new cross

I've heard that before, does that mean if the f1 plants produce pods, that those seeds from that pod are partially fertile? Or are the seeds that make the f1 plants partially fertile? Or does that mean only some plants will produce seed or pods at all?

    breeding Created a new cross

I think I created a new cross between an anuum and a chinense, will the seeds in the f1 pod be fertile? I'm worried because I don't know if maybe the cross didn't work which would be a bummer because I waited a year for this cross to finally show pods.

    pests Aphids?

Very hard to stop, I bet those are aphiods.  I used sevin dust to kill them off completely.

storage Dehydrate, then store in freezer?

Sounds like a good idea, depends on how often you get chili's and how long they're on the shelf.  I'd say it would take up a lot of space, and if you don't use the peppers often, why leave them around to take up so much space?  I say powder em (unless you eat them dry that is)

    Brain strain vs Moruga

Someone explain this to me, are they the same?  The Moruga blend and the brain strain look a lot alike.  Clear this up please.
