Disease Question - is this BER or something else?

Thanks for the information. I'm not exactly sure what type of pepper this is, because the label is for Aji pineapple, but the leaves are different from the other plants that came from the same seed packet. Maybe I mixed up a seed/label somewhere, so who knows. I think the fruit are larger than...

Disease Question - is this BER or something else?

Hello all,   This is my first season growing peppers, and I think I've encountered my first diseased pod. Is this blossom end rot? If not, what might it be, and should I take any steps to prevent this from occurring on other pods and plants? All advice is appreciated!   -Dash (in NM)

    flavor Tasted Lumbre?

Hi Everyone. I've seen quite a few posts indicating that people are growing the Lumbre chile this year. My understanding is that it's supposed to be quite a bit hotter than the Sandia. Have many people here eaten Lumbre? I didn't get a chance to grow it this year, but Sandia has been my favorite...

    Dash in NM - 2017

Thanks Hybrid_Mode_01! I'm really learning a lot from this project, and the guides/posts on THP have been invaluable.   I started hardening last week, and this weekend I had many of the seedlings in direct sun for between 6-8 hours. They started to wilt, so I put them under some shade and...

    Dash in NM - 2017

Thanks PaulG! Had I hardened off sooner, most of these plants could already be in the ground now. But since this is my first season growing peppers, I'm definitely behind where I'd hoped to be. No worries though, since learning is half the fun!   -Dash (in NM)

    Dash in NM - 2017

Hi everyone. These seedlings are looking nice, except where the leaves hit against each other in the airflow - they are getting pretty crowded in this small closet.   The last frost date here has passed, and these seedlings got two 10+ hour days outside this weekend, so I'm hopeful that they can...

Most of the seedlings are in cups now. I'm really hoping I can keep these alive for two more weeks. I've been putting the flats outside for an hour or two to try and harden them. I'll increase that time period this weekend, weather permitting. Here's a list of the types of plants I have growing...

Oh man, I try to hit up Taqueria Mexico every other month. I work at UNM, so it's just down the street (the Lomas location, anyway). Their rellenos burritos are great. I'll hve to get the menudo and torta barbacoa next time. I'll post pics haha.   I noticed in the NM Food thread that you...

You made it out, very nice! Green is great (and Christmas is too), but I definitely get the red on a few specific dishes - El Modelo tamales, Padilla's rellenos, most beef enchiladas. It's hard to beat green chile chicken blue corn enchiladas though. Thanks for the welcome!

Here are some of the same seedlings, but with pictures taken in late March 2017:               Hopefully I can get these planted in the ground two weeks from now.   -Dash (in NM)

    Dash in NM - 2017

Hello everyone. This is my first attempt at growing hot peppers. I have a lot to learn, but that's why I'm here. Sorry in advance for any potato-quality pics!   I started most oft these seeds in mid-February or early March. I'm hoping to plant outside on or near April 15. This first set of...

Hello all, I'm Dashiell (Dash) from New Mexico. I live in the shadow of the Sandia Mountains where some of us live by the motto "If the mountains are pink, it's time to drink". I've been eating green chile most of my life. I like Big Jim for rellenos, and Sandia for almost everything else. The...
