tutorial All about soil - A great resource I thought I would share

I'm going to use this mix for my transplants soon. I've got a mess of DR. Earth's tomato, veg., and herb dry fert. on hand. It's organic and 4-6-3. Just wondering how much you'd reccomend per each 7 gallon fabric pot? I'm guessing about 8 oz. should do the trick. Also, does this mix need any...

seeds Show me yur seed starting setups!

I originally started this thread over in the growing section and was directed to put it over here.   I'm thinking ahead here and want to get ideas for setting up an indoor seed starting chamber. I've perused the interwebs and have a basic idea. I would like to go LED for low power consumption...

seeds Show me your indoor seedling starting setup!

First new topic here for me so GO EASY on me!   I'm thinking ahead here and want to get ideas for setting up an indoor seed starting chamber. I've perused the interwebs and have a basic idea. I would like to go LED for low power consumption and have enough room to germ and grow, to good...

    Why will it not grow?

The nute you refrence seems to be only a nitrogen source. I'm a noob to all the fancy hydro weed grower stuff and don't plan to go that route as growing chilis is a hobby for me. Please though, fill me on what I might be mising in regards to the product you reference.

    Why will it not grow?

Just wondering... What are the palm fronds for?   Also, if I may. What "potting mix" are you using to fill those beds? Custom blend? Store bought? If custom what products and what ratios? I will be building a few more beds in the fall and don't want to break the bank filling them like I did with...

    Why will it not grow?

Very Nice looking!   Forgive my confusion on the terminology in regards to top dress. I would definately put the compost under the mulch. I did use some hog manure fed worm castings as a compost in my raised bed and then mulched it over with green hay, leaves, grass etc. I am blessed to be an...

    Why will it not grow?

Yes, definitely on the pricey side.   It's likely not something I'll be doing long term as I do like to grow somewhat on the cheap. I had a Amazon gift card laying around from my birthday. And speaking of mulching, I plan to build my self a DIY tumbler from a water barrell as soon as I can...

    Why will it not grow?

Okay, I'm in. Just ordered a 2OZ bag of L-amino acids to try out on a few struggling plants. By no means will my trial be scientific in any way and I don't plan to report back often on this unless the guys really take off. Said chili plants are in 7 gallon fabric pots, approximately 70% Pro-Mix...

Are Bonnie Plants Crap Or What?

I've currently got 3 orange habs and 3 ghosts in the raised bed out back. All bonnie from Lowes. All are doing really well and producing even in the hundred degree heat we are having in SoCal. I tried a green ghost last night and WOW! I think I'm going to make a green ghost pepper sauce and call...
