    harvesting HELP! Storm coming

I am not sure about this process.  Are there any good threads on how this is done?  Or is it simpler than it sounds?

    harvesting HELP! Storm coming

Oh I am.  Now I just need to know if these green reapers are usable in some way or if they need to get pitched.

    harvesting HELP! Storm coming

Well, we made it out pretty much unharmed.  Had some good wind and a bit of rain Sunday but overall, it was pretty painless.  I was able to pick some ripe and near ripe peppers before the storm.  Had a couple of casualties from the peppers that had to remain outdoors.  But did pretty well all...

    harvesting HELP! Storm coming

Appreciate the concern.  We are all good down here right now.  I plan to bring my bucketed peppers under cover, but the half barrels are too heavy to move easily.  They will have to just ride it out.

    harvesting HELP! Storm coming

It has been bone dry and hot as hell here in Louisiana for a month now.  In the next few days we are expecting 10-15" of rain and some good winds.  Should I pick the peppers that have just ripened?  Will the swing from high heat and infrequent watering to cool down and heavy water damage the...

    Pepper Ripening Length

So my reapers are finally starting to ripen! 24 days from first noticing the start of fruit to the first sign of color change.

    Pepper Ripening Length

So once a pepper begins to ripen, is there any benefit to letting it finish color change on the plant rather than just picking at the first sign of color change? Will the taste be affected?

FINALLY, first pepper starting to ripen for me! Habanero is the first to the finish line.

    water Self Watering Buckets

I made 6 of the bucket systems this year and they were quite easy/quick to put together and they are working very well.  I refill them probably once a week at this point if we are not getting much rain. https://1drv.ms/u/s!AhGFfdNlG3jmvQYblthdueZ3mJS3

    Scotch bonnet not too healthy

What's weird is two of mine are wrinkly but the other 3 aren't and they are all the same variety, same media, same location, etc.  Crazy little plants.  More peppers are setting everyday on my problem SB though so I think it is coming out of it.

    Scotch bonnet not too healthy

Other than BT a couple of times only one application of neem. But this issue was present before the neem application.

    Scotch bonnet not too healthy

Multiple plants of a few different varieties but none of them including the other bonnets look that way. Media is 4 parts home compost, 2 parts peat, 1 part perlite and 1 part vermiculite. Noticed a few more peppers on the plant this evening after work. I feed them once every two weeks with...

    Scotch bonnet not too healthy

This SB has a few fruit and the fruit looks good but the leaves are all suffering from the same issue. At one point all the flowers dropped and a couple weeks later new flowers started to appear. What am I looking at here? https://1drv.ms/u/s!AhGFfdNlG3jmvH4--9Dj3ksJej3p

    First Timer, First Glog

Update. Plants are all healthy. Pepper pods have been showing up plenty and some of the habs are full size just waiting to turn. Little hydros are drinking plenty and also healthy. https://1drv.ms/u/s!AhGFfdNlG3jmvHQP-2riGe4mvPYo https://1drv.ms/u/s!AhGFfdNlG3jmvHcMz0eqzVOoWNL4...

    Pepper Ripening Length

Well, I don't need to worry about reaper ripening time now as my one pepper fell yesterday at only 3/4" long.  Bummer.  I am assuming its the day after day of heat in the mid 90s / 35c range.  I have my peppers getting about 4 hours of morning light, then filtered light under a big pecan tree...

Thanks for the post.  My first reaper fruit just set so I will follow you to see how long yours takes as a guide for mine!

pics Can't figure out: yellow patches, dying leaves, curled new leaves (pics)

So adding original dawn as a surfactant for neem foliage application is a huge no no?  1/2 tsp in a quart mix.  Is that level of dish soap harmful?

What is digging into my potted peppers? Dirt flung out of pot, shallow holes.

If you live near a field it could be mice.  I have mice get into my "ground" garden and dig holes similar to this.  They haven't gotten up into the pots yet though.  Dogs run them out most of the time before too long.
