Seems like all is going well now, but coco that comes in those compressed packs always gave me problems if you just get it wet and use it. Better to precharge it with a light nutrient solution. This will help with the cal/mag problems. Google it and all the pot growing sites have info on it.

You need to be sure and water the outer edges of the smart pot, slowly so that the water doesn't run out of the cloth too much. This helps alot with the pots drying out more evenly and working better. Otherwise they cause almost too many roots to dry out if you don't do this. But you can...

Well been a long time since an update. But here is a picture from a week ago. I decided to cut back on the number of plants and just give them more root space instead. Plus being out of town has caused some of the little ones to dry out and die or be culled. Most of these are 11-13 weeks...

You are better off buying a stanley blower fan. It is fairly cheap compared to other exhaust grow fans. You have to rig it up some, but looks like you are down with that. Sometime you can find them really cheap. It will do a hell of a lot more than that fan!

I'd say if you make a mini CO2 thing like that and put it in to grow room, use a fermentation lock on it. Seems like it lowers the amount of fungus gnats you have to deal with.

I've had more one night stands with deer than I care to admit... they will sleep right next to you to avoid a conflict with predators(non grizzly areas). Then again... even a black bear will lick the face of a man who has drank too much one night... Find what the deer fear and you have solved...

Garlic chives are nice as are shallots in thai dishes. I always make the house reak with all that fish sauce when I make some of the thai food. Some people hate the smell of that stuff!

Try spraying the lady bugs with some soda or other sticky sugary liquid, it clues their wings shut for a little while. I must admit that I've never used lady bugs outside and only did this inside so they didn't fly into the light or into a fan. But worth a shot outside too...

Svcook, your power price of 6 cents a kilowatt hour seems quite low. Is that for a residential address? Mine is around 11 cents per kilowatt hour.
