    rhm3769 2015 Glog - few pics....

Good luck on your grow, from one Marine to another. I spent 3 years in Lejeune, unfortunately the barracks don't allow for much pepper growing while I was there. Let me know if you need any seeds, I have a few extra varieties including some Carolina Reapers.

    Reaper

I have a quite a few seeds left from last year's plants. I'd be willing to ship them to you. I just looked and sending a letter to South Africa from the U.S. is only like $1.15, not sure how long it would take though. I'd be happy to send them, just PM me.

    Growing up in Kansas City

A little over a month away from planting these beauties. I changed up a lot of things this year in addition to LEDs: I've kept the plants a lot warmer, I've tried to say above 70F, I have a fan blowing on them for about 4 hours a day, I'm watering only when nearly dry, and put them in something...

    what to expect?

My first year growing reapers (2 seasons ago) I had a couple plants but didn't get any pods, I dug up the healthiest of the two and over wintered it. I had a billion pods pretty early last year. I still have the same plant in a 5 gal bucket upstairs that I barely keep alive, I expect another...

    Stevia

I got a couple plants at the city market last year and put them on my porch. I didn't use them for much, I did put a few leaves in tea a couple times, they are a fun low maintenance talking piece too.

    Growing up in Kansas City

Thanks, and as it stands I have way more reapers than I will have room for, I'd be happy to trade a plant or four for some of your varieties, I would also be interested in tomato plants too, I don't start my own maters, not enough room . Also I'm currently without a car, so anytime you plan on...

    Growing up in Kansas City

Things are growing great. I'm having way more luck than last year with my T-8 setup. The only other dependent variable is that I now have a ceramic heat bulb going 24 hours this year as opposed to an infrared bulb last year that was only on during my light hours. This is a pic from last...

    Just bought some Hops Rhizomes

On the plant, there was an entire section dedicated to diseases they are susceptible to.

    Just bought some Hops Rhizomes

Best of luck to you, I'm going to take some pictures throughout the season, we should compare our crops.     That is a great link, thanks for that. I've spent the last hour reading everything on there, lots of great info, but now I'm afraid of mold and fungus.

    Just bought some Hops Rhizomes

Good luck this year. From what I read every year they get bigger and bigger. I saw they are pretty hearty as long as the ground doesn't freeze solid in the first couple of years. After the third year they are apparently impossible to kill without trying.

    Just bought some Hops Rhizomes

Thanks all, I think I'll probably just put up poles every 10ft or so then and string them. I'm pretty excited to grow hops, and the lady of the house is on board which is a bonus, she's not a huge fan of the garden being 75% peppers.

    Just bought some Hops Rhizomes

So I bought 2 rhizomes each of three varieties, chinook, cascade, and centennial. I was wondering if anyone has any experience growing hops? I preordered so I'm not getting then until March or April, just trying to plan. I have a pretty good length (30 feet ish) of south facing chain link fence...

    Frustrating start to my growing

We had mice get into our kitchen, I found the hole from outside and sealed it with epoxy and steel wool. Haven't had a problem since. Everywhere I read said that using just traps isn't usually enough, you have to find out where they are coming in at and plug the leak.

seeds Seedlings, when to cut your losses.

I personally use http://www.photobucket.com once you upload the pics they give you the link you need to post here. After you click on your uploaded picture on the website look on the right hand side of the picture and you will see a box to "Share Links", copy the one that says "IMG" and you...

seeds When do you start your annuum seeds?

I was able to start planting the last weekend in April last year, here in KC. It got warm really early, this year I started a little earlier than last due to some of my plants not being quite big enough to go out. My seeds this year got started January 16th.

    Growing up in Kansas City

My one month from start of germination pics. They seem to be looking better than last year already. I'm pretty happy with the LEDs, I've kept the lights about 6 inches away and I don't see many stringy stems.    As you can see in the second picture I have a few more plants than I have room for...

Thanks for the research, I didn't delve that deep. If it is in fact at least 100 lumens/watt then I should have about 7500 lumens for like 2square feet. I will definitely keep everyone updated.
