    breeding Hybrids

So I had a cross pollinated Fish (no variegation) last year and saved the seeds. All 3 that I planted are different...lol. They're all hot like Fish, but all have different pod shapes and colors...guess I'll save seeds again and see what I get.

    Unknown pepper

Well, they finally ripened. They are similar in taste to Fish, but grew with no variegation.

    Unknown pepper

Not yet, was waiting to see if they were going to ripen more.

    Unknown pepper

I planted what I thought was Fish, from seed, but this is what I got. The leaves aren't variegated, and the peppers are green/brown and don't appear to be ripening beyond that. New peppers grow upright, when they get larger they grow down. Any ideas, or is it probably a hybrid? Jerry

Oh I'm definitely growing those next year!

The Yellow Cardi will be on my list every year, but I am in love with Chocolate Nabaneros...they make the most amazing salsa I've ever tried. Jerry

    Last haul and a mystery

Expecting a hard freeze tonight so I picked the last of my pods. I also have this mystery plant with thick red pods with a flavor similar to jalapenos but slightly hotter. The pods range from dime sized to the size in the pic and ripen red. The seeds were sent to me (unsure from who) and were...

    Lessons learned this year

Had an amazing year of growth and as a result have a freezer full of pods. I have however realized that the superhots are not my thing. I actually prefer the baccatums to the chinense varieties, but I will grow some more Chocolate Habs next year. I also love the Trinidad Scorpion Yellow Cardi...

    1st Peach Bhut pod...scary looking

I just tasted this THING...omg the initial flavor was really good, but I was soon overwhelmed with pain (this was a matchstick sized sliver). Methinks I've found the very top of my tolerance...and no sir, I didn't like it...lol :)

    1st Peach Bhut pod...scary looking

I agree from what I've tasted so far (more limited), but the pain outweighs the reward. So far I seem to prefer the baccatum varieties to the super hor chinenses. Jerry

    Some pods for the freezer

It's a fatalii, and yeah freezing them whole works fine for me... mainly use them for chili or salsa. Jerry
