No, but I'd like to give it a whirl at some point.
Would you like to be able to 'dial a cross'? Call a chilli grower, request a cross and then wait until you get to f whatever?
Rather than start a whole new thread, I thought I'd ask you guys first.
Can anyone tell me why my pods are getting to about the size of a marble, and then ripening?
Yellow 7 Pod
Butch T
Any ideas lads?
The Butch T is in the ground, and the yellow 7 is in a pot.
They're all in the ground. Thinking about getting some potash to see if that helps, though I think it's more likely due to the heat than anything else.
Not too bad really. I've had way less fruit set this year than the same time last year, but my plants look way better. Bushier and healthier overall I guess. My Butch T's and bhuts are going nuts, as are the douglahs, but all suffering from severe flower drop.
Any of you guys pickle your chillies? I've been looking for brining salt everywhere and can't find any, what could I use instead? Maybe white wine vinegar or similar? I was thinking that would be too bitter though?
I think brining salt just has none of the anti caking agents that normal salt...
I really like Tatuaje cigars too. The 2011 & 2012 TAA series were great.
I also really rate RoMa Craft, they do the Cromagnon and Aqitaine lines. Great strong smokes.
Another (when you can get your hands on them) is the Liga Privada line from Drew Estate. I love the Unico stuff, and the T52...
try hydroponics! that gets them big fast! But after that I dont know....I can make my outdoor hydroponic chilies make pods but I can't make my indoor chili hang onto pods.
I'd love to give hydro a go, but I can't really find much resource about it. I'm probably not looking hard enough
Any summer veg is easy to grow man. I'd probably only steer away from tomatoes as they require staking and a little bit of attention to keep the bugs off.
Category D for me. There's a small graveyard under each plant full of dropped flowers. Only one Butch T has set one pod, and one purple Bhut has set one pod. I reckon it's the heat.
Had a week of overcast weather here, so I went and bought a couple 48W CFL's for the seedlings.
I haven't watered my plants in the garden beds for nearly a week too. All the rain we've had in Kal from the cyclone helped out. A dose of seasol tomorrow I reckon.
