I have tried this to isolate pods but unfortunately for me the bloody flowers would just drop off!

The active chemical in neem, azadiractin, is a systemic poison. Wouldn't there be a problem with the fruit being contaminated with azadiractin? It might also affect any mycorhizal cultures negatively, as i understand neem to be both insecticidal and fungicidal.

If it can be used safely, it would be a godsend for some pests. When i needed an answer to whitefly, neem oil, sprayed on leaves, was highly effective -- 100% kill rate with 2 applications.
