I have six light fixtures that i could put red and blue cfl's in would the plants benefit from these lights or just a waste of electricity. theywould be in a 6x 16 grow tent basicaly just providing red and blue ambient light.
 
I am not really sure if they would benefit or not, you could be our guniea pig and try the experiment? I know from experience that tomato plants benefit from red trays around the main stalk, why I dont know but the plants I did it to grew bigger in the garden last year than the plants that I didnt do it to. Maybe its voodoo??? LOL
 
so if you are growing indoors,
answer is more light grow more
less light grow less

there might actually be a futility level but i think they will incinerate before it is reached
