Golden Cayenne

It went from green to red then to.... mushy.... Was trying to wait until it turned yellow? Do I have the wrong plant?

if they turned red then its not a golden cayenne, after red you get mush, as the peppers are done maturing the next step if there not harvested is they rot

harvest the when there red
