How r ur peppers going in Perth west oz?

yeah they were a bit of a kicker, but i found if you eat just the side without the internal ribs it wasnt too hot....i got cheeky then had a big piece then regretted it.

megamoo i was wondering the same thing about selling fresh pods. I might have WAY to many at my new place for next season so was wondering what you have to do to sell them...

Fresh pods are a different thing to sauces. Because they are processed and bottled and might have to keep for a while on a shelf you have to do it properly so no germs and stuff can get it. Plus you need liability insurance in case someone eats your sauce, gets sick and wants to sue you etc. Theres more crap to sort out too.

But fresh pods.... anyone could set up a roadside stand but you if you are going to get a lot might want to sound out small local supermarkets or farmers markets and see what they say.

If I get a rush of too many pods this season  my plan is to dry them and make them into powder. They really reduce in size in powder form.

I bet people could sell their excess seedlings at Sunday Morning markets.

For sure
Maybe ask Candice from Wildfire Chilli. She has a stall at the canning vale markets every other sunday selling plants, seeds, sauces etc... Cos she already has everything set up you might be able to do a deal??? Come to think of it that might be an option for me too

It's jam time people.

Every time I've made this I've used different quantities and different ingredients and its always tasted awesome. Enjoy!

Some people may call this a salsa. The first time I made this I called it jam and it has stuck, so if you don't like it call it what you will.

Looks good. How do you eat it? It sort of looks like a pasta sauce.

Anyone noticed this is happening ?

That's Christmas in Australia

Should I leave ANYTHING out in the sun in this?

Judging by your recent photos I'd say only leave the plants out in sunlight in near 40 °C heat if you like them crispy and well done.

Better to position them to have some early morning sunlight then full shade.

all of mine are under full shade clpoth so im saafe.....

On anything and everything. My favourite is on toast with 2 fried eggs for breakfast.

You can't expect all that beer to turn itself into xmas cheer

Me... I just got the last kid to bed and I'm exhausted. Got another reli bash tomorrow :drunk:

Most of my chilies are enjoying the full sun!
There have only been a few that havn't like the full sun and they were suffering well before this hot weather came.
The anaheim can't handle full sun and the Aji Limon couldn't handle it. The Aji Panca was suffereing a bit but there is alot of new growth popping out of it now and its not getting burnt...so maybe it just needed to mature.
I took the anaheim and aji Limon out of hydro and put them in wine barrels only getting morning sun. The anaheim still hasn't recovered but the Aji limon is doing very very well now! tons of new growth and flowers coming out.

The Aji Limon, you can't see it but it has a very thick stalk! Bit of an old fella! almost a year old! mostly grown in hydro.

Red Rocoto on the right, Carolina Reaper and then Jamacian red and yellow. With a 7pod brain strain behind that but you can't see it in the photo.

I bought these seeds as Jumbo jalapenos...but they definitly aren't. I don't know what they are. The plant in the right part of this photo is putting out pods that look like they might be jumbo jalapenos...but they dont seem to keep growing, looks like they are stopping at just being a bulb shape.
