Caribbean Reds are red Habaneros. Habaneros are simply what C.chinense are called in around Mexico's area. Caribbean Reds are from Mexico. there are multiple red C.chinense varieties in that region and the local call them all "Habaneros". if a red Habanero is not classified as a specific variety or strain, you might need to have a look at its origin... it might not be a Mexican one and therefor not a Habanero.

As a stand-alone variety, Caribbean Red (Hot) Habaneros are quite hot, even among other C.chinense. they have the most beautiful shape and vivid color with a very aromatic fruit-like C.chinense flavor.

Thanks everyone. I just found some more info on the different types of red habs at UK Chilehead database. Thanks Omri.

A chinense doesn't have to be from Mexico to be an habanero. Habaneros are named after Havana, Cuba. Habanero= masculine gender thing from Havana.
