seeds-germination Seedling transplant

I have a forest of seedlings in my garden from throwing a few seeds out. I started to transplant these healthy seedlings to pots and the next day theyre almost dead. I felt I gave sufficient water but are there rules to follow with a transplant? Like leave out plant food or seamungus at first? Dont expose to the sun or do?
 
The first batch I transplanted is thriving but I didnt use anything but potting soil during the transplant. Is it possible the food is to concentrated for a little seedling?

Mist them. Keep them in shade and out of the wind. Don't fertilize.
