Time to ripen?

So, I have a Carolina Reaper plant that has a couple pods on it now. That's all well and good, but it's first pod has been there for over three weeks now since it stopped growing in size. So, same size for over three weeks, and still very green. As I see it, there are three possibilities:
1. Reapers take fooooreeeeverrr to ripen
2. Environment? My bhutlah and chocolate bhuts have no problems, so...
3. I've discovered some "evergreen" variety/cross of the reaper? The old pod IS a lot darker than the youngins.

I guess you're right! Went out to look at the plant today and saw this. It may have taken over a month from fruit set, but there's finally some ripening.

Wow. Once they start ripening, it happens really quickly. This was taken 11 hours after the last one.
