Thought I'd post this to let people know about the Melon and Pepper fest labour day weekend in Carp Ontario, near Ottawa. I've never been to it before since it seems to rain every year, but I plan on picking up a bunch of new peppers this year. The place is called Acorn Creek farms and they got some different peppers.

Well it turns out the festival was actually 2 weeks ago but my daughtor and I found something else to do turns theres the largest underground cold war bunker turned museum in canada there..Well it wasnt a waste of a day for my little one and me lol

I was going to go tomorrow. Were they not still open for business? The Diefenbunker is pretty cool, they sometimes show old war film in there

I went and couldnt find it so I asked some peeps from town...maby they didnt know what I was talking about and confused it with another festival maby?????dunno

Its a bit hard to find but there is usually signs. I'll take some pics if I make it tomorrow.

I just realized the error of my ways..I thought it was in carp...So the peeps did confuse it for another festival...damn..well not a total loss I found diefenbunker my daughtor had a blast

It turns out the event was only today (Monday). They didn't have a lot of fresh peppers but I did pick up a chocolate Madagascar habanero plant which I've never heard of before and some local hot sauces and baby eggplants. I missed the pepper patch tour by a few hours

Hey Canuk, are you going this year? I guess its on the Monday again but maybe I'll call them to make sure and to find out what time the pepper-patch tour begins. Its called the melonfest and pepper pow-wow and there is actually mostly melons unless you make the tour which was in the am last year and I missed it.

I called them and they aren't having the melonfest or pepper pow-wow this year It sounds like they had a poor season too

Its next year already and the MelonFest and Pepper Pow Wow are a go for Labour Day, Monday, September 7th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on the grounds of Acorn Creek Garden Farm near Carp, Ontario.
They only usually have 1 tour of the pepper patch so I'll call ahead and see what time its at this year

that sounds pretty cool. I'm planning on going to Montreal maybe that weekend, so I'll have to look into this. 145 varieties of peppers it says.

Its next year already and the MelonFest and Pepper Pow Wow are a go for Labour Day, Monday, September 6th. If you go make sure to try out the Thai lady's food stand, and go for the pepper patch tour which was at 12:15 and 3:00 last year
