Hello from the Bluegrass!

Hello everyone!
I am obviously new to the group and will be starting my own pepper garden this year for the first time.
Tired of the lack of selection of peppers available in the area and decided to grow my own.
I am thinking Cayenne, Serrano, Habenero, Jalapeno and gonna try to do some Bhut Jolokia's. If anyone has any recommendations or advice for my area (KY) feel free to contact me.
Thanks and hope to talk to ya soon!

Awesome! Glad to have another Lexingtonian on board. Grab a cold one and sit back and relax. Theres a wealth of knowledge on this forum. The guys and gals here are top notch and some of the friendliest people you'll ever meet.

Welcome............from Chicago

Try some of the Nu-Mex varieties.....Heritage 64, Sandia, Big Jim, Anaheim....those are just a few of the medium heat "horn" shaped peppers....which are great tasting when grilled/roasted

Great suggestion. I think if you want a different selection you should get away from all of the ones you've said, they are the most common and commercial other than the Bhut. I like the sugg. above. Maybe throw some different strain of habs like. scotch bonnet, red savina, chocolate habs...maybe try out the Biker billy Jalapenos. Try out some Fataliis or Aji lemon drops. Super hots, anything goes. Plenty of people offering seeds up. If you need any send me a PM and we will get something going for ya :) Welcome to THP :hell:

Thanks for all the help everyone.
Ive got my list together to try for my first year.

Gonna do:
Big Jim

Pablano
Habanero Orange
Habanero Chocolate
Bhut Jolokia
Hot Banana
Jalapeno

I getting my stuff together and hope to be able to start in the next week or so. I'll keep ya'all posted on my status
Thanks again!
