Hello from Knoxville

I am new to this forum and have been growing all sorts of hot peepers for about 15 years. this year I am trying Ghost Chiles ( Bhut Jolokia) and Trinidad Scorpion. Also growing them conventionally and hydroponically. Using one batch under fluorescent lights and another batch under high pressure sodium lights.

Germination done in standard manner in propagation trays with heat mats under them. I have tried potting soil, rockwool, peat, and Oasis (floral foam) I have had 100% germination in the Oasis foam and over 95% in Rockwool. Germination took about 35 days for all to sprout although a few sprouted in two weeks. After roots appears through the wool and foam, I transplanted half in soil and half in my hydroponic system. Without a doubt, the hydroponic system is doubling in growth rate. As soon as it warms up here in Knoxville, I will put the soil prepped plants in my garden.

If any of you have suggestion in either growing methods for these super hots, please let me know.

I also grow Bhut Jolokia (my growlog) indoor. It could be a good idea if you could make a growlog, this way we could compare our experiences, problems, of the indoor growing. I guess you will have a faster grow under HPS.
