alkhall 2014

Starting in netted coir in 5x10 trays with heat mats:

Venuzelan Tiger popped first, five days.

Also have a Datil just sprouting.

The heat mats at 82°F really seem to help.

looks good. I always like the Happy Frog for my seedlings. When I potted them up into bigger containers, I went with the Ocean Forest soil for a little more kick. . .

It appears that all the seeds that are going to sprout have done so.

I would estimate about 60%-70% success.

My biggest disappointment is the Brown Morugas; only two of ten seeds sprouted.

I am going to try another round to see if I can get a few more...

I was planning on planting out this weekend, but we had frost this morning, so I am glad I waited!

Anyway, I will probably plant out this coming weekend (Memorial Day weekend).

I did an 'inventory' of the plants that thrived; my only problem is decding what to keep, I have room in my raised bed for ~25, although I do have nearly 40 five gallon buckets, and what to give to my friends (sorry, I am not shipping any so please do not ask).

I want to wish everyone good luck with their grow this season.

Been a while since I posted, so I thought I might share this; a 'not Peach Jay's Ghost Scorpion'.

100_0770.jpg

As you can see, it is growing on a normal Jay's Peach plant.

My camera may make it look red, but compare it to the Home Depot orange buckets in the background.

Perhaps it is a red that is not quite ripe, but to my eye, it almost looks caramel...

Definitely saving these seeds for next year.

That hot chocolate pull is insane! Good harvest, alkhall. Any tips with the hot choc plants? Just started a few seeds myself.

Thanks.

I do not really have any special advice. I did nothing unusual, just basic care.

I believe the Hot Chocolate is just a very prolofic producer.

Great pods!  Where was your bhut seed from?  They look very nice.

Thanks.

Bhut seed is from refiningfirechilies.

The one plant will probably give well over a hundred pods before the season ends.
