Good Times BBQ pics, couple years ago

Scoville Deville just reminded me of this time when he and CJ came over for a BBQ, Brisket and our newly created BBQ sauce.

Scovie's words today were- "First time I had it {the bbq sauce}, (I was at her house), I poured it on my Pulled Pork sammich, tasted it, and immediately took the quart out to my truck. "This is mine! And no one touch my plate!" When I came back in the house, there were pictures with everyone's finger on my plate. I think Ann has the pictures? "You so funny.... But I have your BBQ sauce. Bitches!"

Oh my goodness! that was fun!  I found the pictures, here's some good food porn.

Here's the meat, looks a little dried out, but it really wasn't.

CJ's appetizer- jalapeno popper dip
jalapenos, cream cheese, I'm not sure what all else, baked in the oven, scooped up with crackers....YUM!

So, Scovie, was it any good?

ROFL!!!!!!

That Popper Dip was really good!  I'm not sure exactly what all went into it, maybe Chile Juju will pop in here and remember.  It could be made with any kind of diced chile, a bit of garlic and onion, cream cheese, cooked crumbled bacon.  She crumbled up some Ritz crackers on the top and baked it just until warm.

Last picture in that file folder is of the next morning's breakfast.

B&G!!!!

The dead wine box bag is included in the picture as required by The Hungover Chef thread requirements.

SD and CJ, I also found some video of some late night pepper eating shenanigans.  SD & salsadude getting owned by a scorpion, remember that?

Oh holy crap! That was a fantastic night. If memory serves... You and CJ were drinking wine laced with Pure Evil? That sauce was (is) money. I don't remember eating a TS with Salsa Dude at all. But i know i would have to have been drunk as sheeit to even attempt it.

From the words of the TB... Hear me now believe me later... Salsa Lady's B&G is a Peyote "vision" experience that will rock your world and change your life forever.

Thanks for posting this up SL!

P.S. CJ just found the recipe for the Popper Dip.

After looking at them pics again, I think CJ added some pickled Peño wheels. It was damm good. I need to get her to make it again!

I like the picture of Salsa Dude holding the sauce container for me so I wouldn't spill it. I was goin after that stuff like a pack of dogs on a three legged cat.

Definitely trying this in the near future! Sounds killer.
And SL's chipotle bbq sauce is still the best bbq sauce I've tried. Freaking outstanding stuff!

Oh SWEET!  Thanks for digging that recipe up CJ, and thanks for posting, Scovie,

Yea,it was pretty late when we got into tasting the fresh chiles (aka...we were slightly inebriated. )  The 'Kid was in bed trying to sleep.  Scovie'd say (very loudly) "Oh CRAP that's HOT!"  And CJ and I were "Shhhhhh!!!!" and then Scovie'd say "oh shucks that's hot!"       It just didn't have the same impact.

CJ would taste the chile and then "dance it out".

PS- that might not be an exact quote of what Scovie said~   ;)

PPS- Thx meathead~

Hope So, JayT!

This is on the must-do list; thanks for sharing!  From the pics it looks like you all had a great time.  You must have been VERY inebriated to forget a scorpion!

Wanted to say thanks again for this recipe, Damn tasty stuff, family really liked it. Very mild flavor, too mild for me with just three Jalapenos (so added powder to mine) but just right for the fam.

Right On, beerbreath!  That's just how it's supposed to look.  Totally customizable with hotter chiles, whatever.
