I'm hooked, I'm hooked!

Congrats!

This is my first year growing peppers, and THP has been a tremendous resource.

Watch out for those choc. habs, they can be sneaky hot. ;)

Welcome fellow addict, keeping them seperate on one acre will not guarantee pure seed 1mile is more like it. You will have to use other means to get a 100% guarantee.

I give plants to friends or bring them in the house just before flowers open or isolate by distance. A mile is what they say but I've never gone that far and I've never had problems. Obviously the further the better though.

I'm laughing because I can remember when I realized that the 'pepper bug' had me in it's clutches. BTW...That was only this past February...LOL I started with wanting just a few plants like JalapeƱo, Pablano, Hot Hungarian and Habs. Well...I now have over 100 plants and 19 different varieties.

Remember to have fun with your new addiction ;)...It will soon become all consuming...LOL :P

Hey, can you tell me if you find the choc. habs to grow real slow? I've got 4 varieties in my grow tent, and they are by far the slowest grower in the tent, even the Bhut Jolokia look like they are about to flower, but the choc. hab is about half the size, and 1/3 the size of my Red Savina.

Sorry, I can't tell based on my own information. Mine are still palying peekaboo with the Jiffy's. ;)

I'm sure the others can though.

Frome the chileman's Db:
The 2" fruits ripen from an emerald green to a gorgeous, chocolate brown approximately 100 days after transplanting.

Sounds like they are in the Naga range of growing time, i.e. a LONG TIME.

Nat, great looking list, hope all goes well for ya. The Habs are a favorite of mine too.

Why is everything that tastes so good, so bad for you?

BTW, the next time you see your Doc tell them about your pepper addiction. They are one of the few "complete" foods. In fact, there is a lot of info on the web that says that hot peppers actually lowers cholesterol, among other things.

Keep us posted, would love some photos :)
