Pimenta Leopard...What does a ripe pod look like?

My PL is podding up. I've never seen one before, so, I Googled it. The Images were different colors, so, I'm still not sure how they should look. They are very small now, but look both green and purple/black. How long do they typically get?

I've grown it in 2012, didn't had a good harvest but that was my own fault. Anyway, I've only pulled a couple of pods, it looked cool.

An overwinteres pimenta leopard - a friend gave me this plant, from seed I gave him last year. Hope it pods up soon :)

Uh, the plant is not green.  A very deep purple, almost black.

Maybe a different phenotype?

Some pics that i have found show little purple colouration whilst othes show plenty of it. Although the one mememe posted appears to have no colouration on the leaves but some on the stems...
