Unknown Tomato Leaf Issue

I'm not a stranger to tomato diseases. I have to control them every year. But this one is new. The leaves go limp and then turn yellow. The branch will eventually completely dry out.
Maybe it's fertilizer burn? I don't fertilize heavily, but am trying a new one.

No, I don't think it's fert burn. Have you checked the pH of the soil and your water? Have you checked the soil for possible fungus or soil pests? What nutrients are you giving it, in the even it's lacking something? The ground looks rather dry right now, but have you had excessive rain in your area? (Possible nute lock-out could be happening.)

It hasn't rained much at all before today. I don't really water them. The roots go down pretty deep as they are 6' + plants and I only water the basin they are planted in to prevent spreading of disease and weeds. I did water at the end of last week when I added a diluted fertilizer. The fertilizer was something like 4-2-7, so pretty light. I don't test the soil in my garden for ph or nutrients. But I do add wood ash every year since soils around here are acidic. But I never have a problem growing tomatoes or peppers so I can't see ph being the issue. My garden produces for the most part very healthy plants despite the usual leaf spots and fungi. The red flag is that I have never seen this before in my garden. I thought I saw all the ways a tomato plant can die.

In addition, these affected leaves are halfway up the plant. Usual diseases progress from the bottom up.

First thing I thought of was Verticillium wilt. SMB, do you rotate crops, or do you always plant tomatoes in the same spot?

I don't rotate. My garden is about 100 sq ft. and optimum sun is about 70% of that.. I was thinking a wilt as well. But not sure as I've never had it. It is only affecting the hybrid plants (3 big boys). My heirloom plants ( all started from seed) are for the most part disease free. The thing is these came from a nursery, and all 4 tomato plants that came from the nursery had an odd leaf disease early in the season. But they outgrew it. And now all 4 (one sungold) have this yellowing issue. This nursery also introduced a virulent leaf spot disease to my peppers that began on a jalapeno plant I got there. Last time I go there.
