my new BBQ

many Yrs ago i use to go to a mates place in the bush and we'd let loose for the weekend and do self destructive things, away from public so as not to cause a fuss. he had a BBQ, a lil 1 that we'd setup , put a few coals in and put a Leg of Lamb or a chicken in,, lid on then go blow things up for a few Hrs, come back and was all done..
anyway he died a yrs ago and i never saw the BBQ again, but Vowed if i ever Saw 1 id buy it, then when ever used could have a laugh and think of womble.

GUESS WHAT, i was looking for 6400K fluro bulbsin a shop and saw it sitting there,,, stuff the globes..

heres the Womble memorial BBQ. 42cm long(16.5inch) 27cm Wide(10.5inch)

It's ancient, but still works..many stories in that bashed-in 'ol torch. ;)

**edit**

Holy frell!!..taking it down to photo it, i realized it was rattling...so I took off what I thought was just the protective steel cover on the bottom..and found this stuff:

Who knows how long it's been there...but check the prices...wow.
Oh, and also found the date it was made...May 1957.

Awesome, it's like a time capsule.

Pretty cool mate, if not for ya I may have never found that...Never occurred to me to take it off before..LOL.

Essh, it's a damn collectors item now. :-D

Cheers,

Ya, it's pretty neat..dam near indestructible too. The tank's been welded at least once though.

I even got it for free years ago...someone was gonna chuck it after a yard sale.
I figged it went well with my old plaid Thermos..remember those? It is green too, it matched the stove.

That thing has been bounced out of trucks, nailed by framing, you name it..still keeps the coffee hot though. :)

Good kit just keeps on going eh?
