Maybe a dumb question but... Are those green tomatoes?  I really don't know what salsa verde is except its green.

Well I don't have Tomatillos!!!
If you have a space in your garden, you can grow them by yourself, few plants will be enough. Tomatillos are great! And you can see what a beautiful salsa verde can be made!

I will have some next year.

Do a search for " Salsa De Nopalitos " to head you in the right direction
Some people peel the paddles if its to tuff( like a cucumber skin) if they are light green and tender you just char off the fine stickers, roast a little color to them and chop'em up

:edit

Also learn how to make Paloma's for a perfect pairing

Verde looks tasty as hell!

Perfect for chilaquiles, huevos rancheros, or add cream to it for enchiladas suizas!
