I cannot figure out what happened to my reaper plant

I water all the pepper plants the same in my above ground box. This reaper plant did this about 3 hours after watering it today but the rest of my plants look great. In one pick its a moruga next to it and the other its a hab. Any ideas ?

What time did you water? How hot was it outside? Water temp?

My Jalapenos did the same thing, I was over watering and they got root rot and died.

Could also be some type of infestation . I would dig up some dirt and see if you find any pests .

it will be 99 today. This morning I watered about 7am and maybe it was between 70-80*

look at the stem at ground level to see if it have been cut (eat) by a worm

and look for signs of diggers like moles, voles, gophers etc that may have destroyed the roots.
