Any Metal Heads Out There?

Admins... If this is not the place for this, feel free to remove it.

Recently started up a new band with some guys and I'm kinda looking for some feedback on some of the stuff we are writing.  If anybody has some downtime, check it out and let me know what you think.  (Disclaimer: This is pretty heavy, so it's not so much for the Poison/Bon Jovi fans out there)  Thinking about throwing some superhots to the audience to add to the METAL EXPERIENCE!  :)

Black Chamber is the name of the band, you can check us out on facebook or ReverbNation.  This is a live cut from the show last weekend.

I like the music. Singing, not so much. I'm just not into vocalists that scream through the whole song. Personal preference. The rest of the band sounds great.

What amp are you playing with? Sounds nice and thick. 6505?

It's actually a Valveking 212 (cheapest tube amp I could find, but it's a beast... 100 watts of tube power will rattle your insides good)  I stuck some Eminence Man O Wars in there and put an EQ at the end of the chain and it really came to life.  Thanks for mentioning it though... I've been working on my "tone" for a while, so I guess I'm on the right track.

I never would have guessed that a tone that thick came from a valveking's stock dirty channel. Any Youtube videos I watched gave it a pretty anemic dirty channel.

I have a XXX 212. I'm pretty happy with it overall, but I am leaning towards putting in some new speakers that give the highly driven tones a bit more smoothness. The stock speakers are great until the gain is up above 6-7. I'll look into those Man o wars.

Dig the song and your tone is killer.  Not into the screaming.  You guys are super tight.  The bassist could nod his head every once in a while.

I'm more of an old punk rocker : Stooges, MC 5, Ramones.. Hardcore punk like the BAD BRAINS is my bag.

I can dig some metal, and STEEL PANTHER are funny as hell.

I will rock to early EXODUS, some TROUBLE.

if the riffs are there.

I like sleep, electric wizard, YOB, down , kingdom of sorrow, buzzoven, weedeater, bongripper, bongzilla etc.

I would really like to hear a better version.

I can tell you guys are into it which makes me dig it even more. Like the riffs I could make out. Like that you guys are all tuned into each other, play well with each other.

You said you just started playing with these guys? Sounds good. I think you just need time to mature as a band together and you will be putting out some heavy grinds!!!!!

Keep it up!!! I think it sounds great!!!

Sorry I don't have a better copy of this one.  We've been together about 4 months or so.  We are still learning each others personalities and figuring each other out, but I'm having a good time and I'm diggin what we are doing.  (I realize that the screaming vocals are not for everyone, but it's what we're going for)  Thanks for the input.

Song is pretty good. Band is tight. The mix isn't great and the singer makes it unlistenable for me.

It sounds like unintelligible growling - like he's hurting himself - and I have no idea what he's singing about.

In my opinion the best metal has a vocal quality that is also melodic.

Each to their own - I know this style is popular, but it's not for me.
Ps - there's a metalheads topic on the Entertainment forum.

I realize that you are going for the screaming vocals, but look at bands like Trivium. Their popularity has exploded after they stopped all the screaming and started singing. I enjoy Vengeance Falls. I can't listen to Ascendency without getting a migraine, but the guitar work in Ascendency is really good.

I do enjoy some deep gutterals and banshee wails, as well as regular singing in metal but i stopped listening to trivium when he started trying to be a new hetfield. Fantastic instrumentally don't get me wrong. I remember when i first heard clean vocals on an all shall perish album and immediately dispatched it as a fail. Turns out.. awesome. Whoda thunk? Haha
