Paul,

Interesting to see your 7 Pot Barrakapore cuttings.  Since they have leaves, I would assume they must be doing OK, but no visible roots yet?  You must be treating them very well.  Will be interested in seeing how your cloning goes, as I have never tried that with pepper plants and know I should just to preserve some of the better growing or tasting ones.

I just never seem to have enough room to overwinter anything unless I can keep them really small.  I have tried to overwinter in the green house, but since it is unheated, the peppers do not survive.

Will be looking forward to seeing how your 2015 grow matures.

Paul, your plants in post#1 look amazing.

As a depressed SEC fan-boy :tear: , I will be pulling for the Ducks.

That Black Pearl and Numix looks awesome Paul. The 7 Pot is a cloning project? That is really cool brother!
Hey, Aaron, thanks, bro!

The Barakapore was acting like a Spring plant late last Fall - vigorous new growth
and loaded with flowers.  Greg suggested rooting some cuttings in vermiculite and
perlite, so I gave it a go.  One of them had an awesome pod which ripened up in
the greenhouse!

A bit more action in the germination arena: http://thehotpepper.com/topic/52421-paulg-2015/?p=1097663
Still nothing in the Aerogarden.  It was slower than direct sowing last year, as well,
but once sprouted, they grew uber fast.

The cuttings are indeed surviving, and I imagine at least one will make it eventually.
I hadn't planned on a Barrakapore this season, but what the heck   ;)

OW in the greenhouse is not possible without a heater.  Patton
makes a really good one I got for $12.95 three seasons ago.  Pretty
efficient since it has two power settings, and I run it on the lowest.
The greenhouse holds heat pretty good for a sieve!  I did score a
light to put in there.

I hope you have a great grow this year, Bill!

Thanks, Jimbo - those were started on Nov. 15th.
I moved goliath out to the greenhouse today

Oh, man, you are too cool, buddy!  GO DUCKS!
Maybe they won't self-destruct.
It should be a good game whoever wins.

Updated germination data: http://thehotpepper....2015/?p=1097663

The drying the seed pods at 105˚F hasn't seemed to affect the germination
rates adversely.  Without actually looking back at my previous grow logs,
these numbers seem pretty normal.  Only one variety  hasn't sprouted,
yet - BJ, chocolate, and very few have sprouted only 1/6, and some at 100%.
I think the final hooks might not happen until next weekend.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend
and your football teams are winning!
Go Seahawks!

Oh yeah, moved all the Aji Amarillos out to the greenhouse under the T5s today.

Moving right along!

The 7 Pot Barrackapore cutting are hanging in there, I'm sure they'll make it.

Nice score on the lighting ;)

Nice, clean greenhouse - wouldn't look that good for long under my supervision.

GO BUCKEYES!!!

Nice score on the lighting ;)
Thanks, Scott.  If only one of the 7 Pots make it, I won't be too disappointed.

I think the light is going to be a big help to the plants I have to put out in
the greenhouse in Jan. and Feb.

GO BUCKEYES!!!
Keeping it clean helps cut down pests and me losing stuff   ;)

Good luck to your team tomorrow  DUCKvs. BUCKS!

Greenhouse setup looking sweet Paul.
Did you choose clear cups for your clones to wait for signs of root growth?

Black Pearl Bonsai....nice.Had 2 petins halfway configured twisted trunks last year .....freezes killed em, or so I thought-both survived, but I to remove the dead trunkage. But as you quote:Every pod a victory!
Green already......+1

I think the germination is about over, so most germination occurring at 6-11 days.
No Chocolate Bhuts yet and only one Datil.   I'll let those Jiffy plugs go for awhile
longer.  A few varieties keep popping new hooks one at a time.

I kept track of the germination data each day.
Interesting to see the distribution tallied up:

1/7…….2 varieties……..3 hooks
1/8…….4………………..11
1/9….…4…………...……18
1/10.….8…………………13
1/11…..9…………………17
1/12…..4…………………5
1/13.….3…………………4
1/14…..4…………………4

I have twenty-seven 18 oz. (.5liter) cups on the grow shelf
with 67 (71 as of 1/13) seedlings at the moment.  I will eventually cull down
to one seedling per cup.  Should  be transplanting to 2liter
containers sometime around the end of February or the
beginning of March, and starting annuums about the same time.

Thanks, Paul.   It was the least expensive kit on the
market and has paid for itself for sure!

Roger that on the cups, buddy!

Love the new light in the greenhouse.

So far so good this year. Keep up the great work.

I hope it helps the plants as much as I think it will.
Next step to put it on a timer.

Thanks, my friend!  Hope your season is off to a good start

The Black Pearl is just in a three gallon nursery container,
so not really a bonchi.  I will eventually try to 'bonchi' it at
some point after this season.

Burn on the frozen plants, buddy.  Hate it when that happens!
But love it that they really survived!  Amazing what they can
undergo and still come back.

Good to see you back in the glogosphere, Dave!

A few more hooks.  Percentages are improving a bit, still one no-show...

:tear:       :mope:    …besides the DUCK:mope:       :tear:
My wishes for no self-destruction didn't come true

Congratulations to the Buckeyes - their running game is pretty much unstoppable

Had to post this here for you Paul......guess what arrived yesterday  .....thank you so much for the little care package that you sent :)

Wow, that took a while!  But at least
they made it!  Hope you enjoy...

Updated germination data here.  The Chocolate Scotch Bonnet is funny.  One hook a day for six days!
Today there are 8/15 varieties at 100%,
      2/15 at 84%,
      2/15 at 67%,
      1/15 at 50%,
      1/15 at 16% and
      1/15 at 0%.

Germination distribution data tallied up:

1/7…….2 varieties……..3 hooks

1/11…..9…………………13
1/12…..4…………………5
1/13.….3…………………5
1/14…..4…………………4

The Manzanos are growing slow as usual; otherwise looking pretty good.
I moved them under the T5HO light out in the greenhouse on the 11th.
Ignore the names on the cups - last year's tomatoes   :

The Aji Amarillos have grown a lot since the first post.  Goliath is still towering over the others.
The two plants on the right are from the same pod - a really fat one.  The two on the left from a
different pod, a bright orange one.  The pots are 51/4 inches square by 61/2 inches:

The tops of the two orange pod plants are incredibly dense:

The smaller plant from the fat pod is branching out nicely:

Just beautiful plants Paul!

You have quite a jump on spring for sure!
No fault of mine, my friend!  All I do is plant the seeds and let
nature take it's course, but thank you very much!

The Aji Amarillos and Manzanos have done well so far.  I think
having the light on them will make the greenhouse much more
hospitable for both of them!

Your seedlings are awesome, Scott!

Updated germination data here.

The Bhut Jolokia, chocolate, finally showed a hook!

Today there are 9/15 varieties at 100%,
