I have found T5 light bulbs at Home Depot that say they are good for plants. My question is, can I get any shop light to use them in, or are there different types of bulb for every fixture?

Thanks for helping!

There are T5 and T8 and T12 bulbs/tubes

All have their own fixture/ballast.

They are not interchangeable

Make sure you get the 6500K tubes

You want a luminaire with good reflector properties. I use industrail highbays. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Lithonia-Lighting-4-Light-T5-White-High-Output-Fluorescent-High-Bay-IBC-454-MV/202838871

You need HO (high output) 54 Watt lamps. Also, as winland stated, be sure you use 6500K color temperature lamps. I have had good results with Spectralux http://www.growlight...o&products_id=4.

This should be posted in "Grow Tech", specifically for these subjects.
