Squier Strat Rebuild

I have been seeing some interesting builds on here that inspired me to dig up pictures of an old rebuild of mine that I did when I was about 15 years old. Ironically, I was in wood shop around that time but never really payed attention or showed up, so I didn't really know what I was doing  :shh:

I was originally going to paint it black and white with some other additions, but along the way I decided to go with a natural look (didn't think it would work on a Squier body). I used some random sandpaper & sander I found in the garage.

I guess I should stop writing and just post the pics. I originally used the Fender Hot Noiseless pickup set. I later replaced the bridge pickup with some type of Seymour Duncan Hot Rail. Ok but really, here are the pics:

There she is  :drunk:

Awesome! Now we (I don't think I am alone here) demand some audio to accompany those pics. Let's hear her in action. Gotta love the sound of a snarly strat, no matter your playing style.

Nice. I always liked a good natural finish. Reminds me... I never did post up a video of my rebuild. And I still have a Tele body I barely started working on.

Thank you! I will definitely post some audio samples, just need to install some new pickups. I removed the ones it had and used them for my old Fender. Right now it has the stock Squier pickups again with the hot noiseless for the bridge, still sounds decent but I'd rather get something nicer, especially for the neck position  :drooling:

Man that is a nice rebuild.. much better in natural finish and mapleneck really ties that guitar together :)
I never liked black strats, the wood must be seen through the paint, that's just the way I roll...

When I changed the original pickups on my Fenix strat, I went for Fender's Tex-Mex ... that added a nice Fender twang to the sound.
Check them out.
