AJs 2 Week Update - Backyard Porn

It has been a couple of weeks since I took pictures of the back yard so here are 4 shots...

These Naga Morich are getting big...they are needing water now and have drooped about 4".

This is my real pride and joy...this is Superhot Row...there are 51 plants in this row. 1 - Bih Jalokia, 6 - 7 Pot, 9 - Datil, 9 - Dorset Naga, 2 - Red Savina, 1 - Oange Hab, 4 - Fatalii, 2 - Devils Tongue, 3 - White Hab, 2 - Chocolate Hab, 11 Trinidad Scorpions and one unknown from Beth. These are all from the seeds I started 28 February 08 with the exception of the orange hab and red savinas...

This is the reason I started growing peppers...to make my own chili powder...here are Anaheim, Big Chile, Big Jim, Cascabel, Pasillo Bajio, Poblano, and NuMex Sandia

Last Year I had 3 bell pepper plants and got about that many small fruit off them so this year I planted 36 seeds of a mixed color...here are 17 plants that I kept (I gave 15 away)...I am going to have more bell peppers than I can use so I will be looking for pickling, preserving methods...

very cool having all those plants, congrats to ya on all your hard work you've done to get those. it'd almost seem like a 2nd job

Way to go man! That is one impressive pepper patch you have there AJ!!! Plants look so healthy and vibrant...

The Naga plants are, well, out of this world. Dang, they are HUGE. Can you tell us a little about how you grew them so big? Overwintered?

Spectacular and thanks for posting...inspiration for next year.

If you could also tell us exactly what soil mix you use and what nutrients, it would help all of us have beautiful plants like that.

Wonderful plants man!!!!

Thanks all...believe me, it is from what I have gleaned from this website and the internet on growing peppers...probably 90% from this website...thank you for all the "master gardeners" here...

The Naga Morich Plants...seeds sown 01 January 2008 1600 hrs from good stock (Philiperv) and are more of a lanky strain than most from what he said...on top of that, I used Botanicare Pure Blend Pro products every time I watered for nutrients, I used the Pro Gro vegetative formula until I hardened off then switched to the bloom/fruit formula...along with some Liquid Karma and Cal Mag every watering until about a month ago...got too expensive and I switched to the 10-10-10 Vigaro liquid feed...they get a small handfull of 13-13-13 vigaro dry fertilize every 3 weeks or so....the seeds were started in Hoffmans Seed Starting Mix in the 72 cell starter trays, transplanted to my local nurserymans NON-fertilized potting soil (standard potting soil) in either 9 oz clear plastic cups or 3" square containers and when I transplanted them to the 5 gallon containers I used a 50% mix of this potting soil and the 60/40 compost/cushion sand....

It is shear joy to see them doing well even tho the fruiting stage has clearly slowed due to the intense heat we are having here in North Texas...July was the 4th hottest on record and August doesn't look like it is going to slack up...this year will end up in the top 10 hottest summers since they started keeping records in the late 1800s....if I can just get them thru the fall until the weather starts to break, it promises to be a wonderful fall....

Again I want to thank THEHOTPEPPER for creating this site...it has been a god-send for me...

PLAINLY PUT....THIS SITE ROCKS.....

Those are some what sweet AJ but I really think they are hotter than the dickens LOL Its very nice set up and I like the way you shaded your ac unit thats coooool I wish mine was that tall but mine are reallt like a small bush short and stubby Good Job

Thanks for sharing AJ...You were right it has been awhile since we've seen your plants. They are all looking GREAT!!! And, all grown up. Nice Job.....

AJ, your garden is so neat. You can grow peppers for sure. I'm far from that organzied but doesn't mean I don't plan to be...my back gives me fits...arthritis and discs, etc but that's another subject. The peppers are gorgeous and you're going to be making lots of goodies pepper powder, stuffed peppers, hot sauce...it'll keep you a bit busy.

Lovely as usual AJ. I didn't know what I was going to see in that first photo of you, all you see before you scroll down the page is the naked half of you behind a hedge.. then you see the shorts.
