I bought Trinidad Moruga Scorpion seeds, but I think they sold me Habaneros.

I purchased Trinidad Moruga Scorpion seeds, but now that the plant has gone to fruit, I think that I was actually sold Habanero seeds. Do you think these are Habaneros, or maybe another similar pepper?

Sorry you had to find out the hard way, but there are a lot more people selling seeds out there than there are reputable vendors. Your best bet is to look at the Vendor Vault comments on here or ask folks who they've had good experiences with; when someone's doing it the right way, word gets around.

from NW Wyoming! Sorry to hear you were another one of the endless victims of shady business. As has been mentioned, always buy your seeds from reputable growers/vendors (this means no eBay or Amazon!). There are plenty of upstanding, quality growers/vendors here. Stick around and you will find that these are some of most generous, honest folks you'll ever meet. I started out with just a single Caibbean Red hab plant a few years ago. After joining THP and making friends with the fine folks here, my garden has grown to over 100 plants with dozens of varieties, all thanks to the generousity of the THP members.

As far as I know Jim Duffy is the best source TSM seeds. Expensive though. And yes it appears you have some type of orange hab.

I would talk to the vendor if you bought them from one, I would check out Wicked mikes offer or go to Judy's at pepperlovers.com she has the real deal also at fall a lot of people offer whole fresh pods for sale you could then extract the seeds for next years grow, but you run the risk of the seeds being crossed with other peppers so if you want to get pure seeds I would go with Judy she's one of the top vendors here.

Don't feel bad. My Morugas turned out to be bells. And they WERE from a reputable vendor!
