Datil Pepper ... Yes or No?

I was sent seeds for Datil peppers, I am aware that there is more than one type of Datil so I say this.... Is this a Datil pepper type?  It sets dozens of peppers at a time on the plant and they dont get very big, this is a really well producing compact plant.  It really surprises me how many pods it sets at a time.  I have cleared this plant 3 times already this summer and it is full again.

Thanks for the help.

Heat i'd say is around 200-300k shu and taste is hmmm....   Well if I bite into the bottom of a pod I do get a bit of sweetness, it has a heavy hab flavor, thats about all I got.

Sorry, I am not an expert reviewer and my pallet is still in training, up until a couple years ago I had limited exposure to so many different types of peppers.

A Datil resembles a Fatali. Those look nothing like them.

I am growing the yellow datil which resembles a small fatalii somewhat, but I have read in conversations that there are more than one type of Datil pepper, like the sweet Datil for instance.

I am ok if its not a Datil, just curious if anyone recognizes it.

Nope, sorry.
Real and only Datil is the yellow (i'd say orange-ish when fully ripe) one. It's relatively easy to recognize because you will spot some purple hue on the stems and on the pods before the final color transition. Very distinctive flavor (way better than your average orange hab) and pretty hot (less than Fataliii anyway).
It'a also tipically a sensitive variety that needs the right climate to strongly produce.
I know for experience that many hybrids, bad representative float around so you'd better score seeds from trusted sources.
The old Red Datil is an (inferior) hybrid (more pointy than yours), the sweet is possibly a selection and i've seen in both yellow (grown by a friend in the past season, resulted a medium hot pepper) and red color but does not really interests me.
Also i'm aware of a more recent 'Red Datil' cross (Datil x Bhut?) circulating, and i'm guilty of sharing some seeds of this one to add confusion.

Datil

Thx I appreciate the detailed answer.  I can say its assuredly a type of Habanero then but I know not which, I'll just dehydrate them into powder and add to my growing jars of red hab powder and flakes.

cheers everyone!
P.S.

As I said I am growing the legit "Yellow Datil" everyone speaks of, I have two plants and I ordered the seeds from pepperlover in the spring so I at least know they are legit!
