Couple of questions-Excalibur 5 tray stackable

So I picked this unit up today for $129.00 after reading thought everything I have a couple of questions

Can you add trays? I doesn't say anywhere, The way the unit is built it looks like you should be able to add a few at least.

And when drying peppers it says the chop them up, Cant I dry them whole?

I dry small peppers like wild Brazil and de arbol whole, but all others I cut in half. They dry way faster like that.

Thin-walled species you can get away from cutting unless they are chinense, always cut them in 1/2.

whole peppers take much longer for most. some are fine (thai etc)

I do it both ways. I'm lazy so drying them whole works for me most of the time. Takes longer, but works fine.

I tried some Aji Pineapples whole last night had the temp at 125 let it go all night checked this morning still wasn't dried one even looked a bit burnt but still squishy.

I have a cheapy no temp model. I give it a week.
