2015 pepper mix

This year I started most stuff off under the light ( Hydrofarm FLCDG125D 125-Watt Compact Fluorescent
 X2).
The Ghost peppers are the only ones I bought already growing, everything else from seed. With such few peppers from last year I had barely enough seed to start so I was carefull and only planted a couple each except the Thai, had a nice handful.
Grown in Coco Coir, then once re-potted used Neptune Fs118 Fish Seaweed Blend feed on them.
While indoors I had a huge Aphid problem and just couldn't get rid of them, soap water, and several organic pesticides tried with no luck, lost a few plants, finally warmed up outside so once they were out the pest problem delt with.
The Tepin Chile did not make it (long one in picture), I think I have a couple seeds left, ordered on line.

Aphids are so damn evil.. This is my first year having an actual greenhouse and most of my plants are doing -amazing-.. But already the aphids are starting to return now that the weather is starting to cool and the ladybug numbers are lessening. I'm going to keep my plants in the greenhouse as long as possible and then I need to decide which of my plants to take in and where to put them.

Love the quality of your photos. :)

Thanks!
Azamax $52/4oz, will have to consider it in the future.
What did help allot was I washed the plants under a tap, held them horizontal and washed over the stem and leaves, did that every three days.
Picked my first pepper this year, a Thai, gonna have it for lunch, Scotch Bonnets/Jamaican Yellows ready also, will picke them in a day or two. Does it hurt to leave them on too long?
Ive lost my Fatalii's, dont recognize them and assuming the other four pots are Thai, hate it when I loose tags :(
:)

I got mine for about $20 don't remember if it was amazon or ebay. 4oz goes a long way. I still have about half a bottle left.

The price was from Amazone.ca, and it does sound like that 1tbs.gall if I recall right, will keep it in mind. Thanks :)

Thanks Rymerpt/SHC :)

CDN$ 51.85+ CDN$ 30.00 shipping

Picked my Jamaican yellows today, left two on that was still pail yellow but still have a dozen greens on the plant :)

First pic of a split Scotch bonnet showing seeds, their in the Dehydrator now. The other is of the Jamaican yellow peppers and are also in the dehydrator, will do powder. Happy I have seeds now for each :)
Looks like the only difference between the Scotch and the JY are thet the JY are elongated physically.

When is the best time to pick, or is it totally out their?
This is my Jamaican yellow and is nice and yellow however I wait till it gets a bit orange like my previous pics show, am I waiting too long? Taken this morning.

My first Tabasco :)
Was disappointed in taste, flat, nice brief heat, but no body and very little sweetness. Didn't try any seeds.
I got these seeds from Richters and most seeds I get from them don't come up (I know others have had the same problem). So will redo these seeds next year and hope the flavour comes out (unless their are other varieties and this one is crap).

Most would say pick it when it will easily snap off the plant, shouldn't have to tug a variety like that. I think you are letting them ripen perfectly based on the pics. You've let them go too long when the seeds turn brown/black and look soggy. If I'm saving seeds, I might pick the pod a few days before what you've done above hoping they'd be fully ripe and pure white.

I waited over a week for two JamaicanYellows to ripen to the normal orange tinge I get and they havent, so I picked them today. Was wondering if anyone can say they stoped turning? The one on the right is what the plant normaly produces and that one came from a seconf Jamaicn Yellow that was outside I picked today.
Thanks!

Very cool pictures! Is your Jamaican Yellow the annuum version oder chinense?

About the ripening: I think its because of the temperatures. I got a turks cap which normaly gets red pretty fast. But since its a lot colder outside it stays orange for a couple of days before it gets red.

Your "timelapse" of the ripening of the ghost pepper is great! Gonna have to do that as well :)

Thanks!
Dont know what type of Jamaican Yellows, forgot were I got them. This is the first year had a good little crop, last year I only got about 5 and were not healthy, black spots, so these are the seeds from them and came out great.
Weather has been like a yoyo :(
