Birth of the Big Poppa Del Rogue UDS

Now thats a real pretty looking UDS...nice job on that build....and the food looks awesome.

Thanks for the "build" compliments, guys. Grinding the old paint off with an angle grinder is something I never wish to repeat. Having said that, I will indeed do it one more time when I build my UDS stick burner...coming soon.

EDIT: I may pay to have it sandblasted.

Cool build.

Big Poppa = Sterling Ball (of Ernie Ball, Music Man fame). He got heavy into BBQ about 10 years ago now. I think drum smokers are great, but still use a WSM.

Yep, WSM is a standard, but, what substantial difference is there between the two? $$$. My Big Poppa cost me about $160.

This sounds very promising. Looking forward to seeing the build.

By the way, the UDS and food look great.

Yeah. It has an attachment that was fabricated for me, but, I'm not allowed to post photos until the "inventor" on the BBQ Brethren forum gets his patent pending. I have a prototype. He also has a rotisserie attachment that he's been touting, but, no one has seen it, yet. I believe it already has a patent pending. Cajun Bandit, and One Grill will be selling it, as well as the inventor. I'm very interested in this roti device/system.

     Nice hat!

Nice smoker, too. If I built that, I'd be proud of it.

Very cool, I bought some of the mods for my WSM.
