DWC Advice please?

Have a few plants growing in a deep water culture system.
All except one are thriving.
It looks burnt, I don't have an EC meter but I do weekly nutrient changes and check the PH every few days (it was about 6.5 today so I buffered it).
Roots are nice and white, no sludge growing in the bucket. A small amount of algae growing on the top of the medium.....
The water probably gets a bit warm but I have no means of controlling that.
It's been hot as balls here lately too with 30 degrees Celsius being the norm in the afternoons for over a week now.
Can anybody shed some light on what's wrong here please?

In bottom photograph the plant in question is second from the left. The one directly to it's right was planted on the same day from the same seed batch......

The hottest I've seen it is about 25c on an extreme hot day (it can get as hot as 34c here).
Cools right down at night though water temp as low as 15c

You have to keep the reservoir cool.  You are absolutely going to have to control how warm it gets, or hydroponic growing is simply not right for you.

What is the nutrient temperature?  How much does it fluctuate within a day?

I will tell you from past experience, growing outdoors hydro is really difficult.  The point of hydro is supposed to be that you have the ability to control all of the parameters.  But when you don't have control over all of them, you are really at the mercy of luck.

You are going to need to have an EC meter, and you're going to need to monitor temp. (on top of PH)  You can somewhat mitigate temperature by offsetting your EC, if you have high reservoir temps, and high EC, your plants are doomed to a slow death.  And they make look somewhat healthy, and moderately productive, along the way.

Ordered a new Bluelabs EC truncheon......Google informs me they make outstanding devices and are a New Zealand company!

I'd suggest that you find a way to insulate your reservoirs.  Something that can slip over the top of the buckets.  Like a larger inverted nursery pot, for example.

See attached chart for oxygen in water. You will have to control nutrient temp if you don't want problems.

Ice cubes are a good way to control nutrient temp
