Glad your LDs are starting to toe the line, Paul! I wait still for mine. Your large Amarillo pods, Peruvian or heritage?

I'm thinking that the aji amarillos, at least here, might rather live in pots. My potted pair (an F5 and a Peruvian) are only maybe 18 inches tall but producing like crazy....I'm getting huge, lush, super-foliated plants out in the dirt, but very little for pods on them. Most of the other peppers out there are leaf heavy, but some are podding up too. The mystery peppers that came with your Peruvians are really bulking up, I hope I love aji limos!

Hey, Eric - the Aji Amarillos are descendents from peruvian seed
started in 2013.

You have some interesting results going in your grow, buddy.

Can't wait to see what the Mystery Peppers are...

Speculation at this point is that they're aj limo, at least by those who are growing them. The pods do look amazingly similar, limos are Peruvian, the evidence builds....

Glad to see all that poddage. ;)

This year is my first growing the Aji Amarillo. It seems to be fairly productive, and tasty!  I'm one of those that if the wife likes it, just grow more of them ;)

You sure have a load of Fatalis ready to rock!
The Aji Amarillos should do well down there, Scott.  They roll
through the 100 degree days here, flowering and setting pods.
Never seen anything like it.  They, and the 'White Lightening',
seem almost bulletproof!

Looking good on your harvest Paul, loving those Fatalis. Don't see to many folks that grow out the fatali, I grew one several years back and loved it...
It's one of my favorites among the superheats.  At least in
the top two or three.  Decent flavor and real heat.

I need to learn to make jam so I can make some Fatali
and Peach jam! Maybe apricot?

Hope all is good with your grow, James.

Thanks for stopping by.

All looking good as usual Paul. Those fat Aji Amarillos with the corking were something to see!

I love the look of your red Peruvian Rocotos... How does their flavor and heat compare to the Manzanos?

Howdy, Rick!  The AA haven't shown corking like
this before; this season a lot have it.  I wonder if
that is weather related?

The Rococos can have a surprising heat, but a
pleasant flavor. They make a great mild-medium
powder, but my favorite is stuffed! I'd say a bit
more heat than the Orange Manzanos, but I've
never had the chance to do a side-by side com-
parison.  Maybe this season  :drooling:

Speaking of weather, we are back into a stretch of
temps in the 90s to low 100s.  Nothing like a little
heat to kick pod ripening in the rear!  I think about
6-10 Scorpions ripened up literally overnight last
night! The next week should see bonnets, habaneros
and scorpions coloring up big time.  The Padrons,
as well.

Decided to try my hand at cold smoking some peppers;
using some Padrons as a test run. If it works, I'll try
some habanero, BOC and Scorpions.

The set-up:

Adding some applewood chips:

Stay tuned for powder pics.

Got a decent pull of pods today, first of the chinense.
Aji Lemon Drop and Padrons still ripening up pods; both
are so productive. The Costeno Amarillo and Serrano pods
are starting, as well. More days of high 90s and 100s over
the next ten days should kick the process up a notch.
