Has anyone in Australia managed to find a fertiliser that is complete and preferably in a 3-1-2 ratio or there abouts
Everything I'm looking at it missing something important.
 
Thrive is missing Calcium
Osmocote appears to lack nitrogen
Powerfeed has phosphorus fairly low
 
I've been using mushroom compost as a top dressing and watering that in with great results so far but I'm designing some passive-hydro wicking beds that need liquid fertiliser
 
Looking through the hydroponic products, most of the websites don't even list what's in it
 
 
Any guidance would be awesome. Banging my head against the wall here and tempted just to design my own from the acids/salts bought in bulk online
 
I'm using Powerfeed (+Seasol) and a little supplementary Epsom Salts. I too, use mushroom compost and also cow manure.

Haven't had any issues at all (except switching to Charlie carp for a week and burning them :fire:)
 
My K/N ratio is 1.3

N/P ratio is 7

Not sure what you can buy in Australia. But give me a shout if you want some photos of my passive hydro / bottom watering set up.
 
I used the Thrive Veggie and Herb formula for my seedlings and young plants with great results. I did add Dolomite Lime to my potting mix so calcium was taken care of already.

Lately I have been using the following recipe to make my own liquid fertiliser that has everything plants require and is much cheaper than buying liquid fertiliser..

In a 9L bucket of water I put:

250 grams Dynamic Lifter - $35 for 15kg
10 grams Manutec Trace Elements - $10 for 500 grams
10 grams Potash - <$10 1kg (once plants are flowering)

1. First I add 8L of water, then put in the Dynamic Lifter pellets and use a stick with a flat end to crush and stir.

2. I then add the Manutec trace element powder to a litre of water to dissolve then add to the bucket.

3. Repeat step 2 with the Potash.

4. Leave overnight and crush/stir the next day. Strain the mixture and use 250ml in s 9L watering can once a week or so.

Over time this will begin to rot and also add beneficial bacteria to your soil also.

This will supply all of the major and minor elements your plants require. Dynamic Lifter is made of chook manure, fish, blood & bone and seaweed.. so all the good stuff you would have to buy separately anyway.

Ive been using this and the results have been awesome my plants are going from strength to strength and can't wait to try this for my whole grow next year.
 
Off Yates website.. as you can see the NPK ratio is very close to what your looking for once you add the Potash to the mix.

Dynamic Lifter Ingredients

Composted chicken manure, Blood and Bone, fish meal and seaweed

NPK analysis: 3.7 2 1.8

WA NPK analysis: 5.4 1 2.7
 
 Jobes organic 3-1-2 , enhanced with micro. If you have a Wal - mart  ,

Just stays in a bucket with a lid on it. I get a a few weeks out of a mix, only takes a few minutes to make and is far cheaper. And.. it works great.

No not in Oz now... Back in New Zealand after 10 years. Missing the chilli growing weather advantages I tell you !!

I'm using practically the exact same except I use a sprinkle of "Osmocote for Veg" also, then give a supplementary feed of liquid Potash every 2 weeks when they started to flower.
