Trippaul Threat (PdN x BMJ) Community Grow

This is a dedicated grow log for Tristen's awesome cross, which I
have been growing out since 2014.  I'll start with a bit of history and
some photos documenting what's happened so far.

In January of 2014, Tristen (Trippa) sent me a little care package of seeds.
In the package were two generations of a cross he had made, which he just
called 'Mystery Cross, F1' and 'Mystery Cross, F2'.

Here's Trippa's Mystery Cross seedlings in February of 2014:

Both generations showing the purple foliage characteristic since the beginning.

Up close look at Trippa's Mystery Crosses, F1 and F2.  Both culled to a single
plant after the photo taken, so I only had one plant of each generation:

Not pulled yet but I am really disappointed in what were gorgeous plants are now barely hanging on.

Here's 2 of the worst...the other three look the same.

The one on the left is a purple. The one on the right is the only plant surviving and it's a white.

Very sad results from the beautiful luscious plants I started with.
Ive been there, my friend. Feeling your pain. I am a little
afraid to see my plants in ten days or so since they have
been in the care of several people since March 7th. Will
have to cross that bridge when I come to it.

Give em a little TLC (but not too much) and say nice things
to them. They are tough plants and I have seen worse
bounce back! Good luck, brother...

I honestly think give them some time, fresh water and no more nutes and they will bounce back ... Make sure you only water from the bottom also to avoid any further sun scald

Again, good advice from a master grower!

What Tristen said! Those are totally savable, I know how it goes-us gardeners have so much love blood sweat tears and time involved it's easy to just feel like total failure has occurred; but even like Devv told me way back when I started-when I was ready to just throw in the towel with my plants, defeated, start over, etc: was to step back, take a breather, and just let em ride and not overlove em trying to save them and I have lots of good successes now on plants that otherwise felt toast to me at the time! Keep your head up buddy!
Regards
-Tristan

I have been home brewing since about 2000 (not continuous a couple of years hiatus here and there) but only the kits .... Started all grain about 4 years ago ... Slowly worked my way into kegging as of last week (haven't actually had a beer poured off my kegerator as yet).
Mainly IPAs (Red, NZ, West coast and white and about to do a New England IPA), have done a few stouts, Pale ales and a couple of wheats.. All my own recipes I have yet to do a clone beer or pack.
Part of a barrel club as well where we all put 20-30 litres of wort of an agreed recipe into a barrel to age ...so far we have done a Belgium quad and an imperial porter.
One of my beers was brewed and released commercially last year under a local label, so that was a box ticked. Still a few ticks in boxes to go.

Both of mine are growing similarly. Lanky like the PDN. But they're both starting to bud!

Looking good my friend! Ready to rock in the
Michigan summer! Nice and healthy looking with
great color...

Sitting in Amsterdam airport waiting for our
standby flight.
With any luck, we will be home in 12 hours!
Will be interesting to see how my plants have
fared since March 7th!

Woo! Welcome to the Netherlands, Paul. Even if it's just for a few hours, lol! Just 100 kilometres away from me even. Hope you had a great holiday.

The airport? I'm sure you could find something better to do in Amsterdam!  Idk if I could handle a vacation that long.

Thanks, fellas! We actually had a few hours in Amsterdam the day before our flight. Its a beautiful seventeenth-century city with some great architecture. The canals are really interesresting. Lots of bicycle traffic! We had a nice Italian meal in the city center and took a one-hour boat ride.

Awesome growth on the plants while gone.
My son, neighbor and house sitters took good care of them!
Put them outside to get used to life in the real world after a
lifetime in the garage under 2-4x4 T5 HO lamps. I was surprised
by the size and spreading. Should grow out well in the big
containers this summer...

Paul, standby? You brave my friend ;)

I'd be, this is my flight, get out of my way I'm going home! <-- yeah, no blood pressure issues here....
We got buddy passes from a friend/neighbor who works as a purser
on international flights. That took quite a bit of the pain out of it, Scott!

You bet, Scott, just send airfare for four to my paypal account
and they are on their way!

In the meantime, here are some pod pics. The F4 plants have
fewer pods than the F6 plants, but both look good for early pods.
Hopefully moving outside to large containers will be good for pod
production.
