Hi Everyone!
I recently registered and figured I'd introduce myself. My name is Jason and I am from (one of the rare natives) Las Vegas, NV.
I have been reading the forums here for a little while to get an idea of the kind of stuff I'd be in for when growing peppers. This year I decided to take the plunge this year growing peppers. I took the easy route this year and got 4 adolescent plants from my local nursery growing in medium sized pots. They are doing OK, not growing as fast as I had wanted, a good bit of flower drop, and not much fruit setting. I think the soil I used is too dense, and my containers are probably a bit small, and occasionally it gets too hot for the flowers.
I love spicy food and thought this would be a fun hobby to have. I enjoy watching videos on YouTube from people like Chili Klaus and others.
This year I kept it pretty mild so that my family can enjoy my peppers with me. Next year I plan on kicking up the heat quite a bit.
This year I am growing:
Santa Fe Grande
Lunchbox Orange
Mild Jalapeno
Poblano
I look forward in reading and posting with all you. Have a good season!
-Jason
