New guy at ren fair hired one of my crew this year. He does that thing where he has a series of sleuths, you get a bag of dirt, and you use the sleuths to clean away the dirt and find the gems. Kind of like the wild wild west panning for gold. He was in my booth and I was chatting him up about how he built the thing. I explained I wanted to combine sleuths with aquaponics to make the aquaponics look cool for the kids.
Later, was at his booth checking out the sleuths. Talking about aquaponics with him and how I wanted to use the falling water from sleuth to sleuth for airation. Someone in the crowd chimed in and asked why I dont just use pvc. I asked him if he had kids. He said he teaches aquaponics at U of K. Thought I was about to get a brainiac lecture on the right way to do it. Instead, he said that he teaches aquaponics, has kids, and fully understands. It was great!!!
So we started talking duck o ponics and how I would need a very good way to seperate solids. I have his card somewhere. He wants to help and told me about a grant that is out there. I already failed the grant, but it was cool to have someone tell me about it d offer to help.
What are the odds???
