Winegums' Indoor/Outdoor Grow 2018

Hello! I just joined the forum and this will be my first thread/glog. I'm quite active on PLC and like to post lots of pictures so I'm hoping that will work out for this thread.

I'll start out with my prized Caribbean Red Habanero Bonchi that I saved from frost this Winter. It doesn't produce much fruit but that's hardly the point of the plant, It's more decorative than anything.

I've been growing since 2017 and successfully transitioned to indoor growing this winter. I built my own three level grow cabinet and LED lights to create a good environment for the plants.

Here's a full list of what is growing:
Habaneros - Purple, Golden, Orange, Burning Bush, Caribbean Red, Brown x 2, Red x 2
7 pot - Yellow x 2, Brain Strain Red x 2, Lava x2
Scotch Bonnets - White Hot Peppers, West Coast Seed Co x 2, Brown x 2
Scotch Brain x 2
Dorset Naga x 2
Texas Crimson Bonnet x 2
Bells - Red x 5 and Yellow x 5
Kung Pao x 3
Moruglah F3 x 2
Bahamian Goat
Aji Lemon drop x 2
Fatalii - Yellow x 2 and White
Not-a-Bhut

so far I've got quite a few mother/bonchi plants and cuttings on the go in the bottom.

Yesterday I tried out low stress training (LST) on some of my older plants. They were getting out of hand and it seems like it's going to save me quite a bit of pruning time. If you're not aware of the process, it's spreading the branches of the plant such that it exposes more stem to light and brings all of the plant to the same height.

I used baling wire which seemed to work well and I was able to make some hooks that would clamp onto the edge of the pot.

Great looking Plants!!
Thanks! I'm still amazed that things are going so well for a completely DIY setup and only just starting my second season.

LST... That's interesting. Good luck Spencer!
I saw someone on the PLC that was doing the same so I had to try it. I was already having issues with height so this will solve that problem I think. It works for weed, so why not peppers?

I decided to try out Kratky and transfered one of my 7 Pot yellow to its new home. I'm using GH Flora Nova for Nutes.

I'm having trouble uploading my pictures from my google album onto the forum =( So I have to upload through imgur in a barse arcwards way.

Things are going well. My Hydro plant in the behind the annuum army has started to really form a lot of water roots after having most of the soil roots die off.

Since this photo was taken I've transplanted the seeding tray you see into individual cups.

Here's my second shelf in the grow cabinet. Lots of caribbean varieties and a few special crosses.

Finally this is the bottom of my grow cabinet. This has most of my LST plants that are flowering and my contest plants for the four PLC contests going on. There's also a White Fatalii and Brown Habanero tucked away in there that are about to bloom.

Low stress training (LST) has been going well with these West Coast Seed Co Scotch Bonnets. I'm using string this time around which seems to work best. The canopies are getting nice and flat and the branches are starting lots of new tips since transplanting to buckets.

Here are some fresh LST plants that I started on Wednesday. The plant varieties are Brown Habanero, Khang Starr's Texas Crimson Bonnet, and White Ghost.

Am intrigued to see how the Texas Crimson Bonnet turns out for you ... still unstable at F2 are you returning the best pod seeds to KS ... good luck with the LST understand the principle but I am a "let nature take its course kind of guy"

It's been a while since I updated this glog. I've gotten all my plants in the ground after doing a week of hardening off. The cold rain finally broke and the sun has come out to play.

Today I made Aluminum tags from popcans for all of the plants as I noticed the sharpie was beginning to fade on some of my plastic tags.

I'm curious to see what comes out for me. I have two plants going right now they have the classic Bonnet/Superhot Chinense growth pattern. They form an aggressive Y shape. I only do LST with plants that are growing too upright for my liking like Bonnets and Super hots.
